Unprecedented Success: Lady Mustangs Blaze Trails with Best Season in Decades!

The girls' basketball team is enjoying a remarkable season, marking a resurgence not seen since 1998! Under the guidance of Head Coach Stew Davis, with support from Assistant Coaches John Robinson, Mike Irwin, and Ryan Schwertfeger, the team has soared to success, boasting an impressive 10-2 record in the section and an outstanding 18-2 overall.

A standout victory on the road against Greensburg Salem, a formidable playoff contender, underscores this team's athletic ability! In December, they dominated two tournaments, triumphing over Franklin Regional, Preston WV, Washington, and Beth Center with a flawless 4-0 record.

Remarkably, this triumph is achieved without any seniors on the roster. The starting lineup features two talented juniors, Ayrianna Sumpter and Miya Harris, alongside two sophomores, Taylor Irwin and Aierra Jenkins, and one freshman, Taylor Schwertfeger.

Despite their youth, they've clinched the #5 seed in the WPIAL playoffs, a testament to their skill and dedication.

The team's remarkable journey continues as they gear up to face Quaker Valley in their first round of the WPIALS playoffs! With home court advantage, this game is set for Tuesday, February 20 at 7:00 PM. Tickets are available at https://gofan.co/WPIAL
