LHMS students participated in the annual Fire Prevention Essay Contest sponsored by the Fayette County Firefighter’s Association. Students
wrote an essay for this year’s theme, “Cooking Safety starts with you. Pay attention to fire prevention.”
The middle school winners recently attended an awards night, as they were honored for their winning essays within the county association. Winners received prizes along with a
certificate of achievement.
In addition, Hannah Hertlein was presented the Chairman’s Award recognizing her first place win for three consecutive years. Essays will move on to the next level to be judged in February by the Western Pennsylvania Firemen’s Association.
